• You’re comfortable working on large-scale Ruby on Rails applications, and have experience taking them to the next level of performance.
• You’re no stranger to PostgreSQL and have a deep understanding of how to design and tune queries for performance.
• You’re a mentor, too. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, guiding less experienced team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Work with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and communicate trade-offs in the solution.
• Learn and innovate on new ideas by continually looking to improve how we work.
• Participate in code reviews, pair with team members, and mentor engineers.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.

• 5+ years of experience building complex software systems in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Strong knowledge of database design and performance tuning with Postgres.
• Experience taking a project from scoping requirements through to launch.
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills.

• Previous experience with Heroku and Amazon Web Services
• Previous experience utilizing Sidekiq and scaling background job services
• Previous experience using observability tools like New Relic
