Financial Analyst – Pricing and Programs;

What you will do in this role

The Financial Analyst – Pricing and Programs will be a liaison between Finance, Atticus Customer Engagement (ACE), Portfolio Management and Divisional Profit Center leads including the reporting Commercial Sales Team for the successful implementation of Marketing Programs.  Responsibilities include budgeting and projecting rebate accruals, calculating & booking monthly accruals, and fulfillment including calculations, payment requests, and customer statements.


  • Active engagement with Portfolio Management & Divisional Profit Center leads in the development of Pricing Strategy inclusive of rebates, and how rebate accruals should be structured and calculated to accommodate Marketing Program objectives in an accurate, timely, and consistent manner.
  • Engage with Portfolio Management & Divisional Profit Center leads to capture Marketing Program accrual requirements to accommodate time‐bound / portfolio‐ specific Marketing Programs such as Prepayments, Inventory Staging Programs, Early Order Programs, and Agronomic Programs throughout the market year.
  • Independently responsible for the calculation and booking of monthly Marketing Program accruals as a significant contribution to the month‐end closing process.
    • Interim and monthly ‘audit’ to insure accurate and consistent implementation of Marketing Program accruals on a by Customer by Product by Transaction basis.
  • Prepare Purchase & Marketing Program Summary Statements for select customers and review with the respective Account Lead for external communications.
  • Direct responsibility for Marketing Program Fulfillment including coordinating with Finance regarding the Cash Flow requirements based on amount, timing and payment type request.
  • Deliver Price and Marketing Program Accruals for the Development of the Annual Budget, and monthly for the Financial Projections.
  • Keen understanding of Pricing Strategy including the Price Discipline, Price Guidance, and Price Continuum across Atticus market access.
  • Facilitate Price, Payment Terms, and Marketing Program exceptions to insure properly networked for approval, documented, and implemented in an accurate and consistent manner.
    • Document and communicate breaches of Price Guidance via the exception process outlined above while also highlighting implications to the Price Continuum for price adjustment consideration.
  •  Gain an understanding of the Atticus Enterprise Resource (ERP) / Operating system and Atticus Customer Engagement (ACE) platform to seek Business Optimization with the use of systems & processes to deliver Operational Excellence.
  • Work closely with the ACE and Business Optimization leadership to identify efficiencies while driving the system set‐up to accommodate the implementation to successful capture those efficiencies.
  • Produce Ad Hoc Reporting and analysis as needed.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a business‐related field
  • 3+ years previous financial experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), MS PowerPoint (charts, graphs)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze, simplify and communicate data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication skills along with strong initiative and balanced judgment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Organizational skills with superior attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate across multiple functional disciplines
  • Excellent computation skills to make calculations with good speed and accuracy
  • Adaptable and entrepreneurial with a background in dynamic, fast‐moving business environment
