Sunnyvale, California, TKA is a Christ-Centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for a Director of Marketing and Communications who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-Centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and implement the marketing and communication vision for The King’s Academy’s brand and promote its unique position in the marketplace. The Director of Marketing & Communications protects The King’s Academy’s reputation and leads communication efforts to support the school’s strategic goals and Christ-centered mission. Essential Job Functions Communications -Interface with and support all departments in their marketing and communications needs -Prepare weekly email bulletins for the school community -Proofread and send out all electronic communications to various constituents -Tell TKA’s story internally and externally through multiple platforms -Coordinate all public and media relations and social media Marketing -Generate and oversee marketing plan, execute market research, and monitor trends -Ensure consistent messaging in the creation of marketing collateral across a variety of platforms -Generate compelling and engaging content for various marketing channels -Establish and communicate brand standards to all departments -Manage the development and use of school logos, colors, mascot, and style guide -Monitor branding and use of logos to increase credibility and establish a professional image -Create and maintain directional signs, pictures, murals, and other visuals at the school -Collaborate across all departments to create materials that tell TKA’s unique story -Promote TKA events through a variety of marketing and communication channels -Design and execute content marketing, marketing funnels, SEM, PPC -Select vendors, purchase, and distribute TKA stationary, name tags, spirit gear, etc -Continuously assess TKA’s position in the marketplace Website -Update and refresh website content, pictures, and media regularly -Manage search engine optimization and search engine marketing/PPC Administrative -Develop, monitor, and benchmark effectiveness of marketing and communications budget -Lead the crisis response team; oversee and manage all crisis communications -Serve as point of contact for parents, provide resources, support volunteers -Oversee a four-person events team -Serves on the Executive Leadership Team
Qualifications Education and Experience -Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or similar field required -7+ years experience in marketing and communications; event planning experience highly desirable Skills and Abilities -Knowledge of the design and execution of SEO, SEM, content marketing, marketing funnels, etc. -Experience overseeing the design and production of print, video, and online advertising -Excellent skills in writing, editing, and public speaking -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of constituents -Demonstrated ability in organizing and managing multiple projects and deadlines -Proficient in computer software including spreadsheets, graphic design, and presentations -Demonstrated ability to lead a team -Experience in development and fundraising is a plus Core Characteristics -Commitment to loving and serving Jesus Christ -Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment -Positive, flexible, resourceful and solution-oriented -Able to understand, love, and relate to students -Must be active (or pursuing) community in a local Christian body of believers -Must have compatible theology in line with TKA’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements -Required to use the computer throughout the day -Work will be performed from the campus and will move throughout the campus during the day -Will often have to lift up to 50-pounds and will often be on your feet during indoor/outdoor events -Work is generally performed year-round, Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm -This position will often require you to work nights and weekends per the event calendar -Will attend the Fall retreat and the Spring service trip (overnights) Pay Grid Range: $98,498 – $127,430
This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by the HR department.
