Virginia, Summary of Position : NAMA seeks a Manager of Communications and Marketing to join its high-energy, results-driven team. Representing the U.S. Convenience Services Industry, the Manager of Communications and Marketing will work collaboratively across teams to execute public affairs, communications, and marketing strategies to grow industry awareness with key publics, serve member recruitment and engagement needs, and drive the association’s business objectives. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, the Manager will support organization growth, revenue generation, and advocacy priorities primarily through content creation and maximizing the use of digital marketing tools. The ideal candidate will exhibit a working understanding of AMS, or similar CRM tools, email marketing technology, social networking tools, and customer/audience acquisition strategies. (S)he will possess a natural attention to detail, the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decision making, and a willingness to adapt tactics to achieve business objectives. Duties and Responsibilities : Manage the implementation, execution, and measurement of general market and NAMA member communications and marketing plans. Conduct marketing for in-person and virtual events and execute member recruitment campaigns to grow NAMA influence, engagement, and revenue. Craft communications and marketing materials for deployment via traditional and digital platforms (NAMAnow.org, social media, email). Work with the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing to understand and address staff public affairs, communications, and marketing needs and serve as a resource and guide for messaging, design, and deployment strategies. Assist with promoting and placing NAMA talent as subject matter experts in industry media coverage. Support development of features, content and maintenance of the association’s website, NAMANow.org Interface with vendors to support program execution (designers, editors, printers, photographers, videographers). Drafted editorials, presentations, and articles in partnership with NAMA executives. Deployed consistent, cross-platform digital communications to reach and engage NAMA members and public policy influencers. Pitched industry story ideas to key local and national media outlets. Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience Four-year degree in communications, marketing, business, communications, or related experience required. High level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with association management databases (iMIS, Salesforce, Airtable) and content management systems (Wordpress) Experience with graphic design using Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva preferred, but not required. Demonstrated aptitude for written and oral communication. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Superb organizational and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to diplomatically prioritize demands. Proven digital competence including critical use of electronic media for communication.
