Organization: Business Engagement Strategies Job Summary: General Comments: The Marketing Development Manager will contribute to the creation and execution of strategies, plans and initiatives that support innovative models of care and advances VUMC business interests whose primary audiences are other businesses (B2B). The position provides critical support for the Business Engagement Strategies (BES) Team, part of the Marketing & Engagement Department and plays a key role in helping VUMC achieve its strategic growth goals. Purpose of Position: The Marketing Development Manager’s primary focus will be to coordinate and manage complex marketing programs in collaboration with senior leadership, senior managers and the content team.

Program elements include digital campaigns, web development, event marketing, advertising, PR and other forms of internal and external communication, utilizing a wide array of digital platforms. This position will contribute to team-level and project-level strategy development and execution that may include digital experiences, communications/messaging, journey mapping, and other tactics/platforms and forms of internal and external communication. Additionally, the Marketing Development Manager will assist with annual strategic plans and budgets and assume ongoing responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Business Engagement Strategies (BES) Senior Manager and the broader BES team to support and lead key projects for internal clients, with a strong business-to-business (B2B) focus Contribute to the development of integrated B2B strategic marketing and communications campaigns and projects, using a suite of digital tools, including marketing automation Support the execution and measurement of multi-month/year, multi-channel projects/campaigns, and track effectiveness and impact (ROI), assisting in the evaluation of marketing efforts to determine effectiveness and future plans Provide marketing project management support across multiple channels and business units for maximum impact on various target audiences, including existing accounts and growth targets Assist with budget tracking and controls, organizing quarterly and annual planning and ensuring that budget tracking is consistent, accurate, up-to-date and in line with vendor POs Coordinate creation of materials in collaboration with the BES content lead and contribute to the management of a resource hub where materials are made available externally Collect and report on data to monitor effectiveness of marketing tactics Provide budget and AR/AP process support for B2B-related expenses/charges Support development and production of videos, stories/testimonials, podcasts and webinars, as needed Provide writing support for internal and external communications, as needed Create, implement, and monitor social media, paid social and paid search campaigns and their metrics, and support thought leadership opportunities Manage the purchase, distribution and organization of promotional items Deliver superior client service and demonstrating value to key audiences Build and maintain positive relationships with internal resources and external vendors and agencies to manage complex projects and ensure timely, high-quality strategy development and deliverables that align to the overall vision and purpose Experience: Strong B2B marketing background Experience executing complex projects effectively using innovative marketing concepts and approaches, including, content strategy, digital marketing, PR/media relations and audience engagement Familiarity with key platforms such as video hosting (Wistia), marketing automation (Marketo), CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and project management tools (Smartsheet). Experience planning and implementing successful paid digital advertising campaigns and SEO campaigns.
