Birmingham, Alabama, MARKETING DIRECTOR – ( T209390 ) Description The Marketing Director for UAB Visual and Performing Arts has the opportunity to make a major impact in expanding and diversifying audiences for a mission-driven organization. This position will serve as a member of the UAB Visual and Performing Arts’ senior staff and will and be a central hub for communication materials across all departments. The Marketing Director, in partnership with the Executive Director and senior leadership, will create the most compelling narrative and brand to promote the organization on a public platform.

The Marketing Director will ensure that all marketing campaigns, external messaging, and collateral materials fully represent the mission, vision, and values of UAB Visual and Performing Arts. They will be responsible for day-to-day development and implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives and drive revenue and attendance to maximize public participation. They will manage, supervise, and direct all marketing activities associated with UAB Visual and Performing Arts to include market planning, development, research and analysis, and all associated activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Support marketing and communication efforts across the organization. Manage content and messaging for website and digital communications, including targeted email marketing, video production, and social media.
* Serve as the brand manager and develop key messages for all of UAB Visual and Performing Arts’ external communications.
* Provide leadership in the creation of visual assets that dynamically tell the story of UAB Visual and Performing Arts’ programming and fundraising campaigns.
* Create and direct the implementation of an integrated marketing strategy plan through traditional tactics as well as in contemporary channels of digital media, direct response, and out-of-home advertising.
* Proactively work with Guest Services and Front of House team to ensure that the highest level of customer service is delivered during all moments of the patron experience.
* Collaborate with UAB’s Office of Marketing and Communications to produce press releases, providing timely responses to media requests and generating consistent local, regional, and national media interest.
* Represent UAB Visual and Performing Arts as media spokesperson when appropriate.
* Create an institutional and program marketing strategy to articulate and enhance brand identity, programmatic efforts, and the impact of UAB Visual and Performing Arts.
* Cultivate opportunities for audience development and community connections that serve and engage underrepresented and marginalized audiences.
* Devise and implement audience engagement plans based on quantitative and qualitative research on attending and non-attending audiences, evolving market trends, and contemporary outreach strategies.
* Regularly conduct and analyze audience and market research to determine demographic and psychographic profiles and to hone tactics for increasing audience size and market footprint.
* Establish audience satisfaction benchmarks and a system for continuous feedback from audience members to support a service-oriented experience with UAB Visual and Performing Arts that spans all audience touchpoints.
* Establish standardized reporting metrics to provide business intelligence regarding direct response rates, website data analytics, ticket sales, and forecasted revenues.
* Create and manage expense budgets for all campaigns and other related expenses.
* Manage the performance of the marketing and communications team by providing thorough and thoughtful performance appraisals and feedback and fostering a positive, productive, results-driven environment.
* Collaborate with the Director of Development to ensure necessary support for UAB Visual and Performing Arts fundraising and organizational advancement initiatives.
* Provide the highest level of customer experience when dealing with internal and external constituents (online, via phone, or in person) that adheres to the organization’s documented standard operating procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned. Annual Salary Range: $55,180.00 – $75,000.00 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, branding, marketing strategy, advertising, communications, analytics, or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.
