Illinois, Position Description The Membership and Marketing Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. The primary function of the position is membership recruitment. This position is remote (*see travel requirements below). Related duties include but are not limited to: Membership Responsibilities: Identifying new members. Identifying prospective members in the areas where CISCA meetings are being held and invite them to the event and follow-up after. Leading creative new member recruitment campaigns, including developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members and implementing an internal direct mail and online package appeal for membership. Working with the Communications Committee to create effective membership recruitment and marketing materials. Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports. Assisting with member communication activities, which may include drafting membership materials for approval, including thank you letters, renewals, web content, emails, appeals and special marketing materials as needed. Responding to membership related questions and issues, which may include questions about membership, renewals, and benefits. Representing and advocating the role of the Association to existing and prospective members, through print or in-person events. Shared team tasks such as updating the member database, in-house renewal processing, file update and maintenance and other tasks as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Marketing Responsibilities: Create and post to social media regularly to engage the membership. Assist with the creation of promotional material for CISCA events, including publications, white papers, websites and in-person meetings. Update the Association’s website regularly to ensure the content is current. Travel Requirement This position requires domestic travel to the association’s Connect (approximately 5 days in September or October), Summit (approximately 5 days in March or April) and Emerging Leaders Meetings (approximately 3 days in July or August). Requirements : Three or more years in sales that involved in-person recruitment, cold calling, and follow-up. Proven record of sales success required. Must excel at meeting and talking with prospective members, building rapport with prospective members, and closing sales in a professional manner. Must be creative in developing new areas and methods for member recruitment and implement them. Energetic, positive, professional, and self-motivated personality with effective oral and written communication skills required. Experience within a trade association’s membership department specializing in sales and membership recruitment is required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong skills in process management, database management, customer service and project management with ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel & Outlook. Proven ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously and independently. Must have strong project management skills, and an attention to detail. Vision, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit, combined with strong project management, organizational and communication skills are important in this position. Ability to work fully and effectively remotely. Experience with creating social media posts as well as creating flyers and updating websites.
